With the new AF-505, EPON set out to create an iron that combined the unparalleled forgiveness and ball-speed of the 503 and 705 models with the traditional forged feel and workability of the AF-Tour models. By using a revolutionary new forging technique, they were able to meet that goal by producing an iron with the thinnest face of any 1-piece forging in the world that feels like a blade but performs like a super game-improvement iron. The addition of a new perimeter weighting system lowers the CG allowing for less offset and a shorter blade length compared to the AF-503 while still increasing overall MOI.
SPECIFICATIONS:
A clear evolution of the former 5 Series model the AF-506 packs a ton of game improvement in a 1-piece forged design. Similar to the previous AF-505 model, the construction features the thinnest face of any 1-piece billet forged golf club in the world at 2.3mm. Additionally, the lie, loft and offset are also the same as the AF-505. However, a slightly wider blade, a wider center sole and the significantly larger “caved cavity” provides a 27% larger sweet spot making it the ultimate in shot shaping and forgiveness.
SPECIFICATIONS:
The 7 Series has always been popular with EPON fans as it caters to the “Game Improvement” segment, by far the largest category of player profiles available to equipment manufacturers. This 7 Series, AF-706 will be transformative as it provides all the technology benefits for the higher handicap player but in a more player friendly chassis. The latest version of the 706, the "S" version is identical to the AF-706 from 5-9 iron. The wedge faces are thicker in the "S" model to help with feel and distance control.
