Augusta Custom Clubs and Swing Analysis provides comprehensive golf improvement through professional instruction, custom club fitting, and precision club building. Dan Burnfield combines TPI Level 3 coaching certification with engineering expertise to deliver data-driven results using advanced technology and proprietary methods.
Professional club fitting at Augusta Custom Clubs uses multiple launch monitor systems and comprehensive swing analysis to determine optimal club specifications for your game.
Our Fitting Services Include:Driver fitting and optimization, fairway wood and hybrid fitting, iron fitting (traditional and single-length), wedge fitting and gapping, putter fitting, complete set fitting, reshafting and club upgrades, and lie and loft adjustments.
Every club fitting session includes data from multiple launch monitor systems. We use both SkyTrak Plus (photometric technology) and Swing Caddie SC4 (Doppler radar technology) to cross-verify measurements and ensure maximum accuracy.
SkyTrak Plus captures ball speed, launch angle, backspin, side spin, carry distance, and shot shape using professional-grade photometric sensors. The system operates indoors year-round, providing consistent fitting conditions regardless of weather.
Swing Caddie SC4 features Doppler radar technology with atmospheric pressure calibration for accurate swing speed, ball speed, smash factor, and distance measurements. The portable system allows outdoor fitting sessions and provides voice feedback during testing.
By utilizing both photometric and Doppler radar technologies, we cross-reference ball flight data to ensure the most accurate fitting results. Fitting sessions include video swing analysis to document swing mechanics, lie and loft measurements to verify clubface angles at impact, and shaft selection based on your swing speed, tempo, and loading patterns.
Dan builds custom golf clubs using proprietary shaft stiffness profiling techniques and premium component manufacturers. Every club is hand-built to your exact specifications using engineering-based analysis unavailable at traditional golf retail locations.
Our Building Services Include:Complete custom club sets, single-length iron sets (Tom Wishon EQ1-NX specialist), custom driver and fairway wood assembly, precision reshafting, grip installation and sizing, club repair and restoration, swing weight optimization, and length, lie, and loft adjustments.
Augusta Custom Clubs uses proprietary shaft stiffness profiling developed through engineering analysis and precision measurement. Using specialized equipment, Dan measures shaft flex characteristics, bend profiles, and stiffness distribution at multiple points along the shaft. This analysis goes far beyond manufacturer flex designations (regular, stiff, extra stiff) which are not standardized across brands.
The shaft profiling system measures CPM (cycles per minute) frequency and spring constants at multiple points, tip stiffness, mid stiffness, and butt stiffness profiles, and transition zones.
By matching shaft stiffness profiles to your swing dynamics and loading patterns, Dan ensures optimal energy transfer, consistent ball flight, and proper feel throughout the swing. This scientific approach to shaft fitting produces results impossible to achieve using standard fitting methods.
Premium Component Partnerships:
Augusta Custom Clubs is an authorized fitter and builder for Tom Wishon Golf Technology, specializing in EQ1-NX single-length irons, custom driver designs, and performance-optimized clubheads. Dan is one of the few authorized Tom Wishon fitters in Georgia, providing access to these premium components unavailable at traditional golf retailers. Additional partnerships include EPON forged irons, Tour Edge Exotics, Alpha Golf, and certified fitter for True Temper steel shafts, Grafalloy graphite shafts, and KBS shaft designs.
Every club built at Augusta Custom Clubs is assembled by hand with precise attention to swing weight, shaft installation depth, grip alignment, and finishing details.
Dan uses his in-depth knowledge and years of experience to precisely tune-up your clubs with adjustments to loft, lie, and length. Let's work together and bring those clubs to the specifications you desire.
Shafts often have remnants from the manufacturing process that can affect the club's playability unless they are installed correctly. Generally, most OEM and big box store technicians do not take the time to make sure the shafts are correctly installed. This failure causes the club to bend in ways you never intended. To correct this, Dan will make sure that your shafts are spined and tested for those nasty oscillations that affect the playability. He will install the shafts correctly to ensure flat line oscillations are all that you see from your clubs.
